Let families find your Montessori school

The Montessori World is an international directory dedicated exclusively to Montessori education. Families search by country, city and stage, and land on each school's profile.

Your school gets a page of its own here, with its stages and environments, the team's training, languages and services, photographs, location and contact details. You write it and you keep it up to date. Families aren't looking for an address and a phone number: they want a sense of what a school is like before asking for a visit.

Families preparing a move, or looking for Montessori continuity in another country, arrive here too. They usually search in English, and every profile also exists in the English version of the site.

Which schools it is for

The Montessori World starts from five traits a family can ask about and observe when visiting a school: mixed-age groups, a long uninterrupted work period, Montessori materials, community life without rewards or punishments, and at least one guide with Montessori training in each environment. We explain them in How to recognise a Montessori school.

How those five traits take shape in each school is something the school itself tells in its profile.

The Montessori World does not certify or inspect schools. We publish the information each school provides about itself.

If your school is already listed

Some schools are already in the directory because we created an initial profile from public information on their website.

If you find your school's profile, you can claim it and take over its management. You'll be able to complete the information, add photographs and correct whatever needs correcting.

If you would rather your school not appear, write to us and we'll take the profile down.

How it works

You create an account, fill in your school's information and send it to us. We review the details and publish the profile.

If we need to clarify anything, we'll write to you before publishing it.

Having a profile on The Montessori World is free.

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to belong to a Montessori association?

No. On the profile you can list the associations, accreditations and training you consider relevant for understanding your project.

Can we be listed if only some stages are Montessori?

Yes. The profile lets you explain which stages work with this approach and which ones have other characteristics. The same goes for a state school with Montessori classrooms.

Can we update the information?

Yes, whenever you like. If a profile goes a year without being updated, we show a notice so families check the details with the school. The notice disappears once the profile is updated again.

Can we be listed whatever country we are in?

Yes. The Montessori World is an international directory and brings together schools from many countries.
