L'escoleta de la Vila

A Montessori school where children, community and nature grow together.

L’Escoleta de la Vila is a small Montessori school and a non-profit educational association located in Esplugues de Llobregat, just outside Barcelona. Our project was born from a community, and we like to think of our school as a countryside school within the city: a place where children can grow connected to nature, people and their surroundings.

We welcome children from their first months of life through the age of 12, offering carefully prepared Montessori environments for each stage of development. Our approach is rooted in Montessori education and the training of the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). At the same time, we understand education as a scientific and reflective practice: we observe, document, question and continuously review our work in light of current research and knowledge about child development and learning.

We respect individual rhythms, foster independence and curiosity, and see learning as a living process that grows through exploration, experience and meaningful relationships.

Nature is an extension of our classrooms. The forest and nearby natural spaces are part of our everyday life, offering children opportunities to observe, investigate, move, play and discover the world.

As an association, a school and a community, families and educators take part in building a shared, close-knit and continuously evolving educational project. We aim to offer an education deeply respectful of childhood, enabling each child to grow with confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.
